Ruth Roman died Thursday, aged 75, at Her Laguna Beach home. Ruth Roman was a Hollywood screen actress who appeared in Hollywood in the 1950s with her mixture of sexuality and purity. The actress died peacefully in her sleep, according to her son, Richard Hall. Her breakout performance as Kirk Douglas in Stanley Kramer's "Champion," a 1949 adaptation of the Ring Lardner short story about an insane prize-fighter, Warner Brothers gave her prominent roles in nine films in less than two years. Within one day she was able to go from playing with Bette in "Beyond the forest in 'Beyond the forest', to appearing alongside Milton Berle for 'Always Keep Them Laughing'. After the conclusion of ''Strangers On a Train", starring Robert Walker, she was taken to ''Tomorrow is another day'' starring Steve Cochran.
